Under the proportional representation system used for European elections the top candidate on the party list has most chance of being elected to the European Parliament.
Second in the list is Rushcliffe Councillor Sue Blount. The third placed prospective candidate is Leicester's Bob Ball. Mr Ball is a graduate of Leicester University (politics and history) and in May 2003 was involved in a tie-break for the Castle ward seat on Leicester City Council.
The other three candidates are (4) Simon Anthony from Nottingham, (5) Paul Bodenham who lives near Bingham and works in rural policy and (6) John Chadwick from Kesteven.
Leicester-based technical author Brian Fewster has been selected top of the Green Party's regional list of prospective candidates for June's European election. The list was selected by a ballot of all the Green Party members within the East Midlands region.
